This program selects only general practitioners and family physicians (NOC 3112), and specialist physicians (NOC 3111) who have an approved job offer in Nova Scotia to work and live there permanently.

How to apply?

Start with obtaining a job offer from the NSHA (Nova Scotia Health Authority) or the IWK. Gather your documents and submit your complete application to NSOI for this specific stream and receive a nomination. Apply for both a temporary work permit and your permanent residence to IRCC.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

LanguageMust be able to practice medicines in either English or French.
Job OfferMust have a job offer from NSHA or the IWK. This means you should be eligible to receive a license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
EducationECA from the Medical Council of Canada or the eligibility to obtain a license from the college of physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
Processing Time18-24 months.
