How to immigrate to Quebec?
Quebec Entrepreneur Class – Stream 1 and Stream 2
There are two streams under this class: 1) Stream 1 is for a small number of businesspersons who want to create and operate a business, and more importantly, are able to obtain a service offer from authorized business organizations. 2) stream 2 is for businesspersons who want to establish or buy an existing business which is operational for the last 5 years. Stream 2 doesn’t need to obtain service offers from any kind of business organization. Stream 2 is currently suspended (as of Sept 2021).
How to apply?
Download applications from the Québec immigration website and send them by courier to Direction de l’enregistrement et de l’évaluation comparative, in Montréal along with all supporting documentations. The immigration counsellor will check the application along with all the documentations and if necessary, will ask you for an interview or additional documents. If the counsellor accepts your application, you will receive your Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ – Québec Selection Certificate) by mail.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
| Language | NCLC level 7 in French and CLB 5 in English. |
| Experience | Stream 1: Obtain a service offer from any business incubator/accelerator/university entrepreneur center and they must demonstrate they can support your business/project. You can apply along with 3 other business partners. Stream 2: Create a new business or acquire an existing business that has been operational in the last 5 years. |
| Others | Business plan and service offer required. Stream 2 net worth: Minimum of $90,000 alone or with wife/partner. Stream 2 ownership: If you create a new business, you must own/control at least 25% of its equity capital. If you are buying an established business, you must acquire the ownership/control of at least 51% of the equity capital. You cannot buy a business that was bought/sold by another applicant under this program in the last 5 years. Certain businesses are not eligible. |
