Commission provides EUR 12 million to fight against migrant smuggling

On 7 May 2024, Commission opened for an application a call for proposals with a budget of EUR 12 million. This call will support Common Operational Partnership projects that enhance prevention and fight against migrant smuggling and support cooperation between law enforcement, judicial authorities and other relevant services of the participating Member States and third countries. 

The call is part of activities foreseen in the Thematic Facility Work Programme 2023 – 2025 for Internal Security Fund. These activities support the implementation of the Global Alliance to Counter Migrant Smuggling  and its Call to Action to strengthen international cooperation on preventing and responding to migrant smuggling.
